A brief overview of Collingwood
Collingwood is roughly a 2-hour drive from Toronto, and is a well known destination for those looking to flee the city for some time spent closer to nature, enjoying the Niagara Escarpment. Hiking, skiing/snowboarding, water activities and the photogenic Collingwood Terminals are the main attractions. Not to mention the quaint small town charm with unique shops and restaurants.
Residents of Collingwood enjoy various grocery store options, specialty food shops and big box retailers that are also found in the city, just not as many.
Collingwood also has a hospital and medical building, thriving schools, recreation facilities and senior homes.
If you like soft sandy beaches like myself, Wasaga Beach - the world's longest freshwater beach, is just 20 minutes away from Collingwood and is getting a new upgrade.
It doesn’t have an IKEA yet, but the new Costco is expected to open in late 2026.
