Summit View sits minutes from Collingwood's downtown core. Highway 26 connects west toward Thornbury and Meaford. Highways 10 or 26 runs south-east toward Barrie and the GTA.
Summit View falls within both the Simcoe County District School Board and the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, as does the adjacent neighbourhood of Mountaincroft.

Residents are within walking distance of views that include Osler Bluffs, Nottawasaga Bluffs, Blue Mountain, and Pretty River. You could walk from Summit View and hike up Osler however you would definitely want to drive to the others.
